There was always a debate regarding professional certifications. We frequently see that many employers seek certain certifications in their job listings. However, does it really matter to get a job? Does it increase your salary? We have conducted a survey with our participants and the Post-Project Management Certification survey results are compelling!

93.21% of the Participants Who Sat for the Exam in Last Year Successfully Passed!

Master of Project Academy students has a 99.6% first attempt rate. Based on the survey results of the group, 93.21% of the participants who sat for the exam in the last year passed the exam. This does not mean that the first attempt rate of Master of Project Academy is lower than it is advertised. This means, there is a minority of other students who are still preparing for their certification exams and could not sit for the exam in one year.

The exam preparation process may differ from one person to another. As Master of Project Academy, we are offering 100% self-paced courses and also virtual classroom training programs for some certifications such as PMP. If you choose a self-paced course, it is completely up to you how much time you will spend completing the training. Also, we are always recommending the applicants to support their study plan with diverse materials such as sample exams or flashcards. So some people, especially if they are busy working professionals, can complete their whole study period in a longer timeframe than the others.

Earning a certification not only helps to increase salary; It brings new opportunities as well. 41.06% of the participants who earned a certification in the last 12 months reported that they either got a promotion in their current organization or they found a new job.

Certification Helps Professionals in the Early Years of Their Career!

When it comes to years of experience, professionals who have less than five years of experience increase their salary more when they earn a certification. 38.60% of the participants who have less than five years of experience increased their salary by 10% or more while 21.93% increased their salary by more than 20%.

Post-Project Management Certification 36.80% of the participans who have less than 5 years of experience increased their salary by 10% or more33.52% of the participants who have more than five years of experience increased their salary by more than 10%.

Similarly, 13.59% of the participants who have more than five years of experience reported that they increased their salary by more than 20% after earning a professional certification.

This clearly shows that earning a certification gives a significant boost if you are in the early years of your career. Because employers seek more evidence and proof that you are eligible and qualified to perform the jobs they are offering.

Starting a career is not always easy as many good positions often require significant experience. But you can tackle this obstacle by getting a professional certification. For the PM career journey, there are entry-level certifications that do not have an experience pre-requisite to apply for their exams.

For instance, if you are a fresh graduate, that means that you don’t meet PMI’s experience criteria. So CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) certification will be an ideal start for you. This is the entry-level project management certification given by PMI.

If we name project management certifications, the most popular ones are PMP, CAPM, CSM, CSPO, Prince2, and PMI-ACP. No matter what your role is in the organization, earning a PM certification will increase your odds of improving your salary.
